The Hope Centre
The Hope Centre, St Helens was established as a local charity in 2004. The Centre’s aim is to work with the vulnerable and disadvantaged across two Centres by developing Advice, Advocacy, Support, Life Skill and Vocational training programmes.
The Hope Centre, Atherton St provides a Next steps Information, Advice and Guidance service. This initial interview assesses gaps in education and experience and provides suitable routes to fill the gaps.
The Training department at Atherton St provides the ‘Breathe’ Well being programme for those with mental health and the ‘Equipped’ Recovery programme for those aiming towards abstinence from substance misuse. The ‘Breathe’ programme includes a number of life skills courses where the individual can choose to do one course or take the journey through the complete programme.
‘Equipped’ is designed to enhance the prospects of the individual and ensure that their transition to independence is successful.
From walking in through the doors of the Hope Centre I have found it to be a lifeline to sanity and well-being. The staff are friendly, qualified, approachable, relaxed and caring. If they can’t help with a problem they will go out of their way to put you in touch with someone who can.
