Starting Point - A Place where you can receive free information, advice and guidance on jobs, education and training in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

You can see an advisor by:

	Calling in at Starting Point and waiting to see an advisor.
	Make an appointment and have an hour with an advisor.
	Make an appointment with an outreach advisor.

You will then agree an Action Plan with your advisor to use any of our facilities and services.

We will expect you to let us know when you have achieved your goal.

	Free CV compilation.
	Support with Jobsearch on websites.

	Information on self employment .
	Information on voluntary work.

Our Advisors can give you information, advice and guidance on:

	What qualifications are necessary for your chosen career.
	Learning courses with colleges and learning providers.
	Training courses with colleges and learning providers.
	Funding available for learning and training.

Advisors can support you in your career choice.

	Advisors have Guidance qualifications.
	Computer aided packages can help to give you ideas.
	Advisors can explain what qualifications are required for your chosen career and the best route for you.
	Full career information library and leaflets. .
	Ongoing support whilst you decide.

We have a range of assessments that may be useful to you e.g.

	Skills for Life - Do you want to know what level your literacy and numeracy is?
	Dyslexia - Many adults have not been assessed for dyslexia.
	Occupational Profiling
	Spatial awareness

We have a range of assessments that can be carried out by British Psychological Society qualified staff in privacy and to help you achieve your career goals.

This is funding available to anyone who lives in an NRF area, is unemployed and is registered at Starting Point - as long as it is part of your Action Plan.

The funding pays for training that is not funded by other organisations and there is an upper limit to the amount available per individual. It is to fund training that will remove obstacles to finding work.

Employment Compact can also pay for protective clothing this is funding available to anyone who lives in an NRF area

If you are registered at Starting Point you could be eligible for travel passes to interviews, training and the first month of employment.
