Room Hire

If you are looking for a venue for a meeting or event, we have rooms to hire at very reasonable rates. 

What Rooms Are Available?
We have a number of rooms available for meetings, events, seminares, parties etc. Roooms can be booked for on-off events, or for ongoing, regular sessions.

When are Rooms Available?
The Deafness Resource Centre is generally open from 9.00am - 9.00pm, Monday to Friday

Some rooms are booked on a long-term basis, so please contact us to arrange the most suitable date and time, to avoid disappointment.

Who Can Book Rooms?
A mixture of both deaf and hearing groups use the Deafness Resource Resource Centre. Rooms are hired to a number of different groups and organisations including social clubs, slimming clubs, art classes, network meetings, deaf forums and more.

The final decision for accepting a room booking lies with the Management Committee of the Deafness Resource Centre.

How Do I Book A Room?
Please contact the Centre, so that we can assess all your needs. You may wish to arrange a visit to see the different rooms available.

You will be asked to complete a booking form, and read and sign a Room Hire Contract and Cancellation Policy.

How Much Do The Rooms Cost To Hire?
Room hire ranges from £5 per hour up to £128 for a full day, depending on the rooms, and each group's needs. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Is the Deafness Resource Centre Accessible?
Yes. The Centre is accessed via a ramp, with an adapted toilet, and a lift to the first floor. All rooms which we hire out are fitted with a loop system, with ample lighting and adaptable layouts.

What Equipment Is Available For Use?

We have the following equipment available (a small fee is charged for thier use) :

  • Digital Projector
  • Overhead Projector
  • Flipchart Stands
  • Radio/Cassette Player
  • TV
  • Viceo
  • DVD Player
  • Internet Access
  • Access to kitchens to prepare refreshments

Do We Need to Provide Our Own Catering?

There are two kitchens available from which to serve refreshments. However, we can arrange catering for your function, at an additional cost. This would be arranged during the booking process.

You are also welcome to arrange your own catering.

What Can I Expect From the Room Hire Service?
Clean, secure, and safe premises in which to hold your meeting / event.

What Do You Expect From Me?
Respect for the building, staff, fixtures and fittings in the Centre.

Transport
The Deafness Resource Centre is on a busy bus route, to and from St Helens Town Centre. Bus numbers change frequently. Up to date information is available from Merseytravel.

There is limited parking for blue badge holders only, on the front of the premises.
